  Wreck VASSILIOS T

The one of the most interesting wreck along the coast of the island of Vis is certainly the wreck of the Greek cargo ship Vassilios T at the depth of 20 to 55 meters, close to the cape of Stupisce near the the town of Komiza.

The ship sank onto its port side with its cargo of coal when it ran into the cape during stormy night. Its position close to the shore makes it easily accessible for advanced divers. The beginners can view it from the starboard side which lies at the shallowest depth. The ship still holds objects of everyday use and its cargo is scattered throughout the cargo holds as well as around the vessel itself. The large cargo holds are safe to enter with good visibility although you will need underwater lamp to reveal the multitude of of the vessel's interior.
